The three most alarming abnormal phenomena during the operation of multi-stage blowers are as follows:

1. Abnormal vibration

Multi stage blowers are extremely sensitive to vibration, and abnormal vibration is usually caused by the following reasons:

Loose bearing installation: If the standard tightness is not reached when replacing the bearing, it will cause increased vibration during operation

Damage to rotor dynamic balance: Wear or dust accumulation on the impeller can alter the distribution of rotor mass and disrupt dynamic balance

2. The bearing temperature is too high

Overheating of bearings is the second largest hazard after vibration, and the main causes include:

Lubrication system malfunction: insufficient lubricating oil, deteriorated oil quality, or blocked oil supply pipeline

Improper installation clearance: The tight fit between the bearing and the journal leads to frictional heat generation

External heat source influence: High temperature gas at the exhaust end seeps into the bearing area through the shaft seal

Continuous high temperature operation will cause the bearing material to anneal, ultimately leading to shaft failure.

3. Abnormal noise from bearings

Abnormal noise is an early warning signal of equipment failure, specifically manifested as:

Metal friction sound: usually caused by damage to the bearing raceway or cage

Periodic knocking sound: may be caused by gear wear or impeller rubbing

High frequency whistling sound: often related to insufficient lubrication or interference with seals

Unprocessed abnormal noises can quickly escalate into serious mechanical failures.

Suggestions for preventive measures:

Regularly check the lubrication status of bearings and use extreme pressure lithium grease that meets ISO VG32 standards

Perform vibration testing every quarter to ensure that the vibration value is ≤ 0.04mm (RMS)

Install an online temperature monitoring system and set an 80 ℃ alarm threshold
